Mum arrested with BAC .200
Every now and then we come across breathalyser related news that we feel should be shared, this is one of those stories.
Video has been released which shows a Florida woman, Brandy Lerma, 31, being arrested by police with a blood alcohol content of .200. To make matter worse, Brandy had an unrestrained 3 year old child in the backseat of her car. Not only will she face charges relating to her DUI but she will also be charged with child abuse according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The video which was released shows the woman driving carelessly, merging to different sides of her lane before then showing the unrestrained child in the backseat.
Brandy Lerma, who lives in Boynton Beach, was first sighted by a truck driver when she was swerving carelessly over the lanes of the motorway. She allegedly nearly hit four other vehicles whilst DUI.
Juan Martinez of Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated that “I was afraid she was going to kill someone.” He further went on to explain how the lady was driving a gold coloured Chevrolet Malibu down Haverhill Boulevard on Satursday afternoon. The deputy officer who pulled over Ms Lerma noticed the strong smell of alcohol and that she had slurred speech. She also was unable to find her driver’s license when requested despite it being in plain sight (according to the Deputy officer).
During the video Lerma can be heard yelling “I will kill you!”. She is also seen kicking the police officers car. When asked to stop kicking the car she replies “I don’t care”. Lastly she then asks “Who is taking care of my child?”.
